
John Mallory is a retired Westinghouse personnel manager who started preparing time capsules in 1980 for his family and neighbors. His interests were stimulated by Westinghouse, who had dedicated two 5,000-year time capsules in 1938 and 1965 and created the term "time capsule."
Mr. Mallory's interests in time capsules grew to the point where he now provides free counseling and sells time capsules to families, companies, schools, cities, grandparents, etc. He is associated with the International Time Capsule Society at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, Georgia.
His major interest is providing time capsules that can be opened in one's lifetime. He provides guidance on time capsules and supplies containers made of polyethylene and stainless steel.
John Mallory has personal experience and/or advised on using time capsules for the following: millennium parties, senior classes both high school and college, weddings, new buildings, reunions, class projects, new homes, churches, birth of a child, and special events.
